Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advises Casino on the disposal of Big C Vietnam for a valuation of €1 billion
Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advised Casino on the sale of Big C Vietnam for an enterprise value of € 1 billion[1] to Central Group, one of the main family-owned conglomerates in Thailand with interests in real estate, department stores, retailing, hospitality and restaurants.
Big C Vietnam is a leading food retailer in Vietnam, operating a network of 43 stores and 30 shopping malls, with a turnover excluding taxes of €586 million in 2015.
Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier had already advised Casino at the beginning of 2016 on the disposal of Big C Thailand. The firm also advised Casino on other transactions in France, Asia and Latin America.
The Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier team was led by Bertrand Cardi and Ben Burman (partners), Laurent Gautier (counsel) and Christopher Grey in M&A, Didier Théophile (partner) and Olivia Chriqui on antitrust aspects and Laurent Aynès (partner) on international law aspects.
Casino was also advised by Linklaters on French law aspects, White & Case on antitrust aspects, Audier & Partners on Vietnamese law aspects, Linklaters and Chandler & Thong-ek (Hunt Talmage) on Thai law aspects and NautaDutilh on Dutch law aspects.
