Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier has advised Hivest Capital Partners on the sale of Rail Europe to Omio Group

Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier has advised Hivest Capital Partners on the sale of Rail Europe, one of the world’s leading distributors of European rail tickets, to Omio Group, the Berlin-based multimodal travel booking platform.

Founded in 1932, Rail Europe was a pioneer in its field and today sells 5 million train tickets a year. Its platform serves 4 million travellers annually, works with more than 250 rail operators and draws on a network of 25,000 travel agents and partners worldwide. Rail Europe will continue to operate under its own brand, while benefiting from Omio Group’s technology, platform and multimodal inventory. The enlarged group will sell 22 million train tickets a year.
