Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advises Airbus Group on the finalization of its joint-venture with Safran
Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advised Airbus Group on the second phase of the creation with Safran of their 50/50 joint-venture Airbus Safran Launchers (ASL). Airbus Group was also advised by Clifford Chance and CMS Francis Lefebvre.
As part of the first phase, Airbus Group and Safran formed a joint company by bringing together their respective civil program contracts and major participations related to civil launcher activities.
The second and final stage of the creation of the joint-venture focused on industrial assets relating to civil space launchers and strategic military launchers. In order to maintain a 50/50 balance in Airbus Safran Launchers, Safran will make an economic equalization contribution of €750 million.
ASL aims to perpetuate the success of the European space launcher business by providing high-performance and cost-competitive launchers. In particular, ASL is leading the development and industrialization of the Ariane 6 launcher.
The DVMB team was led by Alain Maillot, with Vincent Agulhon advising on tax matters and Bertrand Cardi and Damien Catoir advising on M&A and corporate aspects.
Safran was advised by BDGS and Jones Day.
