Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier assisted Bouygues Telecom in the strategic agreement reached with Vauban Infrastructure Partners for the operation, within a joint venture, of Fiber to The Home (FTTH) lines

Paris, 11 May 2020

Under that agreement, Bouygues Telecom will transfer to the joint venture, majority owned by Vauban Infrastructure Partners, the long term access rights which it has already acquired in the FTTH networks deployed by Orange in medium dense areas. The joint venture will continue progressively acquiring such rights from Orange, contributing in this way to the co-financing of fiber roll-out. More than 1 billion euros will be invested in the next four years. The joint venture will supply Bouygues Telecom with all required services to access the FTTH lines under a 30-year master access services agreement. It will also be able to offer the same services to third-party operators.

In this transaction, Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier assisted Bouygues Telecom on merger control issues and in the discussions led with competition authorities in this field.

The Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier team consisted of Didier Théophile (partner), Guillaume Aubron (counsel) and Aya Bachiri (associate).
